Wasn't the SSL upgrade 'tall. :-) Just using a poor alias to call it up. I put a -D in the alias - apparently doesn't make any sense if you don't use that flag in a terminal. Changed the alias to lighttpd='lighttpd -f /root/lighttpd.conf' and made a button for it in emelfm/zenrunner and made a stop button for it too: killall lighttpd php-cgi. Works great now.
